BC Announces $10M Outdoor Recreation Grant

On May 1st, the Government of BC announced they would be providing a $10 million dollar grant to the Outdoor Recreation Council, of which the 4WDABC is a member, to be used for the improvement of all aspects of outdoor recreation.

ORCBC has researched, studied and advocated for this fund’s development over the past number of years. This fund’s creation means that outdoor recreation groups can expect stable funding to improve the outdoor recreation situation and opportunities for British Columbia.
Congratulations to the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC and Louise Pedersen, our Executive Director who lead this effort! Amazing work and thank you!
We also acknowledge the wisdom of this Government and thank Minister Heyman in supporting outdoor recreation and seeding this endowment fund!
Advocacy DOES pay off! It may take a while but never give up!
– Four Wheel Drive Association of BC President, Kim Reeves
Kim Reeves is the 4WDABC’s representative and sits as a Director on the Board of the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC.

  1. Hey, my names Jared Brown and i have enjoyed the Backcountry of bc my whole life. Which is why I called my company Backcountry Excavating Ltd. Now I currently specialize in underground utility work in the city.
But I’m well versed in all aspects of excavation and road building . I used to build haul roads in Alberta in remote areas for the rigs . That being said. If there is any projects you guys come up with that could use some exacavating work I’d be interested to hear about it. Or consult about it or even do the work myself if it all aligns. I have a rubber tire backhoe currently which would work well for traversing the fsrs for smaller projects either way I enjoying seeing what the 4wd associan does and I enjoy being a member. ( yes I havnt renewed yet its on my list. Of things to do this spring here). So if any projects arise that could use some equipment don’t be afraid to reach out to Me. ( I reside in the lower mainland)

    Take care!
