YOUTH INITIATIVE
Wheelers of Tomorrow
Wheelers of Tomorrow is 4WDABC’s youth initiative focused on mentorship, education, and building a culture of stewardship for British Columbia’s backcountry.

OUR VISION
Building the Next Generation of Responsible Wheelers
Many of the challenges facing BC’s backcountry today—from garbage dumping to trail misuse—are the result of years of poor education and limited awareness.
Wheelers of Tomorrow was created to help change that by focusing on mentorship, education, and positive engagement with youth across the province. Rather than focusing on punishment or criticism, the program encourages learning, responsibility, and pride in protecting the outdoors.
PROGRAM GOALS
Teaching Stewardship Through Experience
The program focuses on creating opportunities for youth to connect with the outdoors while learning responsible recreation practices.
Key areas include:

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Community Events That Bring Youth Into the Outdoors
Wheelers of Tomorrow organizes and supports a variety of events designed to introduce youth to responsible off-road recreation and stewardship.
Family Trail Runs
Guided outings where youth and families explore together while learning responsible off-road practices in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Community Cleanups
Hands-on trail cleanup events that teach stewardship, respect for public land, and the importance of leaving outdoor spaces better than you found them.
Mentorship Opportunities
Experienced members connect with youth to share knowledge, build confidence, and support safe, responsible participation in off-road recreation.
Youth Outdoor Events
Youth-focused events that introduce outdoor skills, teamwork, and community involvement through structured, accessible, and engaging experiences.

LOOKING AHEAD
Growing the Program Across British Columbia
The long-term goal of Wheelers of Tomorrow is to create a strong network of mentors and volunteers who can support youth engagement across multiple regions of the province.
Future initiatives may include training programs, volunteer partnerships with schools, and expanded community events designed to strengthen youth involvement in backcountry stewardship.
GET INVOLVED
Help Shape the Future of BC’s Backcountry
The program relies on volunteers, donations, and community support to continue growing and reaching more youth. Every contribution helps create opportunities for young people to get outdoors, build skills, and learn responsible recreation alongside experienced members.
