In pursuit of our two organizations’ shared goals of backcountry stewardship and saving historic structures for future public enjoyment, the
Logan Lake ATV Club and the
Four Wheel Drive Association of BC are very pleased to announce a new collaborative partnership agreement with
Recreation Sites and Trails BC for the ongoing care and maintenance of the Greenstone Mountain Fire Tower south of Kamloops.
In a beautiful location with stunning views of
Greenstone Mountain Provincial Park, this 93-year-old lookout has been a popular destination for off-roaders and ORVers of all stripes for years. Lately though, it has seen only sporadic individual repairs, with no one to officially look after its upkeep. With this new agreement, the iconic tower and surrounding structures will see extensive repairs made over the coming year and regular organized maintenance going forward.
Because the tower is surrounded by a Provincial Park, legal trail access is crucial, so the project will also include the building, restoring, and upkeep of the surrounding trail network for ORVs – “All trails lead to Greenstone.”
Watch for upcoming announcements of work parties for your chance to join in!
