Join the Wheeling Wisely Team: 2026 Train the Trainer

Education is a key component of everything we do, and safe and responsible 4WD recreation is central to what we stand for.

The Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia is excited to announce that applications are now open for the third round of our Train the Trainer course! We are looking for experienced wheelers to join our team of volunteer instructors and help us expand off-road driving and recovery education across the province.

The Details

  • Dates: October 25 – 31, 2026 (Prepare for immersive, action-packed days!)

  • Location: Zajac Ranch at Stave Lake, BC

  • Application Deadline: July 25, 2026

About the Program

This is a 5-day intensive course led by our qualified Wheeling Wisely instructors. This isn’t a beginner “how-to” session; it’s a high-level program designed to sharpen your existing skills and teach you how to deliver our curriculum to other members. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be a vital part of our training team, helping us build a safer, more competent off-road community.

Investment: The cost is $1,250, which includes five days of instruction, all course materials, on-site accommodation, and meals.

  • Deposit: $625 due with your application.

  • Balance: $625 due upon acceptance.

  • Note: All fees are fully refundable if you aren’t selected or are unable to attend.

Are You a Good Fit?

We are looking for members who are passionate about safety and mentorship. To be eligible, you should have:

  • 4WDABC membership in good standing.

  • Valid driver’s license (BC class 7N or higher, or equivalent) and current First Aid certification.

  • Experience with off-road driving and vehicle recovery.

  • Attended at least two Wheeling Wisely courses (or have equivalent experience—reach out if you’d like to chat about this).

How to Apply

Ready to step up? Please have your resume, driver’s abstract, and first-aid certificate ready to upload.

  1. Apply Online: use the form below, or email your package to TTT.2026@wheelingwisely.ca (review the form to see what info we require).
  2. Submit Deposit: Send your $625 deposit via Interac e-Transfer to interac@4wdabc.ca. Please include “TTT 2026 Deposit” and your full name in the notes.
