DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first annual 4WDABC Vancouver Island Toy Run\, a heartwarming community event where fellow off-roaders come together to spread holiday cheer and support families in need.\n\nParticipants are invited to bring new\, unwrapped toys that will be donated to local families who could use a little extra help this season. No matter what you drive\, we welcome all to simply come to show your support\, every contribution makes a difference. Expect a day filled with festive spirit\, decorated vehicles\, and the joy of giving back. Let’s make sure every child wakes up to a smile this holiday—because no one should go without a little magic at Christmas.\n\nWe will be meeting at Alberni Truck and Overland Accessories for 9am located in 2555 B Port Alberni Hwy\, Port Alberni\, BC.\n\nAt 10am\, we will head out into the Alberni valley back country where we will enjoy a scenic drive through some of the most pristine forest while we make our way to the Nahmint Lake Recreation Site. I welcome you all to camp with us that night\, if you’re unable to camp i will arrange someone to lead you back into civilization.\n\nDonation Guidlines-Your Toy donation must be store bought and still in package.\n\nVehicle requirements-This event requires no modifications to your vehicle\, stock friendly.\n\n\nHope to see you there!

SUMMARY:(DEC. 13 CANCELLED) Hale Creek (West Harrison) Maintenance/Newbie Run
DESCRIPTION:EDIT: DECEMBER 13 EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER RISKS AND ADVERSE CONDITIONS.\nWe welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Weaver Creek Spawning Channel (17780 Morris Valley Rd\, Agassiz\, BC V0M 1A1) for introductions\, air-down\, and safety talk before heading out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. Expect the group to return to the hatchery by around 4:00 PM. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. We recommend\, but do not require\, that you have the following: \n\nSuitable tires\, with good tread\nFull-size spare and jack for your vehicle\nTire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\nWork gloves\nCommon sense\nand most importantly\, bring a good attitude\n\nCommunications (optional\, but recommended): \n\nLMR 4WDABC channel 2 (Lower Mainland)\nHam 146.460MHz (ham qualification and callsign required)\nFRS/GMRS channel 4\, privacy code 0 (or off)\nCB channel 4\n(see 4wdabc.ca/communications)\n\nDuring these runs\, our members and volunteers will clean up these sites\, clear brush\, repair structures\, and remove garbage. You are welcome to participate.\nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. \nNote: run may be rescheduled or cancelled depending on weather and road conditions; please check back here before heading out.

SUMMARY:Radar Hill Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Radar Hill in Campbell River has seen some significant illegal dumping and abandoned burnt vehicles\, and we want to see it cleaned up. We are organizing volunteers to come help restore the land back to nature.\n\nWe will be using machines to deal with large garbage and vehicles. We will need volunteers to help pick up smaller waste and load it into a waste bin that is being delivered to the site. Thanks to the Comox Valley Regional District\, tipping fees are being waived.\n\nThere are two dump sites. The one dumping site close to the entrance is where volunteers are needed to pick up trash.
