DESCRIPTION:VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! \nThe BC Outdoor Show in Chilliwack (Chilliwack Heritage Park) is coming up from March 22nd to March 24th\, and we are looking for volunteers to help out at our 4WDABC booth. Your entry and parking fees will be covered! Don’t worry….there will be at least one 4WDABC Board Member to help you if you’re unsure of what to do \nWe are looking for the following shifts (we only need two people per shift): \nFriday\, March 21\n10pm- 2pm\n2pm-6pm\nSaturday\, March 22\n10am-2pm\n2pm-6pm\nSunday\, March 23\n10am-1pm\n1pm-4pm plus packing up (roughly 30 min) \nPlease e-mail volunteers@4wdabc.ca with your availability or any questions by Thursday\, March 14th.

DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, March 22\, 2025\, at 8:30 AM at the Hayward Lake Rec Area parking lot. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include simple trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, 4WD systems\, and what equipment to carry. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to pick a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. \nThe day will conclude with learning important post-trip procedures and airing up before heading home. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\nTP/toiletries – NO FACILITIES ON SITE\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Part of the day will be learning about the tools available to help you make purchasing decisions. You’re welcome to bring and ask questions about any other equipment you already own\, particularly air-down/air-up tools. \n\nThe cost of this event is $150 for current 4WDABC individual members. Each person attending will require their own ticket.
