SUMMARY:FORT NELSON - Foundations of Four Wheeling (FOFW) - July 25\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR FORT NELSON\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, July 25\, 2026\, at 8:30 AM at the Fort Nelson Motocross Track\, by the Fort Nelson airport.  \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include simple trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, 4WD systems\, and what equipment to carry. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to pick a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. \nThe day will conclude with learning important post-trip procedures and airing up before heading home. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\nTP/toiletries – NO FACILITIES ON SITE\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Part of the day will be learning about the tools available to help you make purchasing decisions. You’re welcome to bring and ask questions about any other equipment you already own\, particularly air-down/air-up tools. \n\nThe cost of this event is $150 for current 4WDABC individual members. Each person attending will require their own ticket. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR FORT NELSON\, BC.  \nMeetup is Sunday\, July 26\, 2026\, at 8:30 AM on Cessna Way by the Fort Nelson airport.  \nThe focus of the second course of this series\, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from various common “stuck” situations. \nCourse topics include equipment selection and care\, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, and hands-on experience in various simple recovery scenarios. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, a Hi-Lift jack\, and a winch.
