SUMMARY:Hale Creek (West Harrison) Maintenance/Newbie Run
DESCRIPTION:We welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Weaver Creek Spawning Channel (17780 Morris Valley Rd\, Agassiz\, BC V0M 1A1) for introductions\, air-down\, and safety talk before heading out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. Expect the group to return to the hatchery by around 4:00 PM. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. We recommend\, but do not require\, that you have the following: \n\nSuitable tires\, with good tread\nFull-size spare and jack for your vehicle\nTire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\nWork gloves\nCommon sense\nand most importantly\, bring a good attitude\n\nCommunications (optional\, but recommended): \n\nLMR 4WDABC channel 2 (Lower Mainland)\nHam 146.460MHz (ham qualification and callsign required)\nFRS/GMRS channel 4\, privacy code 0 (or off)\nCB channel 4\n(see 4wdabc.ca/communications)\n\nDuring these runs\, our members and volunteers will clean up these sites\, clear brush\, repair structures\, and remove garbage. You are welcome to participate.\nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. \nNote: run may be rescheduled or cancelled depending on weather and road conditions; please check back here before heading out.

DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR WILLIAMS LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, August 9\, 2025\, at 8:30 AM at Location TBD. \nThe focus of the second course of this series\, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from various common “stuck” situations. \nCourse topics include equipment selection and care\, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, and hands-on experience in various simple recovery scenarios. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, a Hi-Lift jack\, and a winch. Our classes are small\, allowing you to interact with the other students and share your experiences while learning from each other\, and you will be encouraged to practice each of your new skills in our Hands-On training style. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle and recovery options\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Part of the day will be learning about the types of tools available to help you with your own purchasing decisions. DESCRIPTION:DCOFFROAD Proudly Presents\n“SEND IT” A Stave West Training and Tour day\nTHe first Saturday of every month\, starting SATURDAY April 5\, 2025\, get to know and operate your SXS / UTVs and ATVs and check out some of the Stave West area trails\nCome out add to your skills and learn from experienced operators in the Motorsport park and training area and do some local stave west riding\nEach day is tailored\, depending on persons experience levels signed up some days will have more touring\, less training\nFirst 1/2 of the day is in the training area starting with the discussion portion including: \n\nMachine orientation\nRiding Gear and equipment\nPre ride preparation\nTire pressures\nMachine operation\nBasic recovery techniques\nBasic Winch recovery\n\nThen we saddle up for coached physical machine operation in the entire training area including: \n\nPylon practice\nFigure 8 practice\nRecovery practice\nWinch recovery\nLog bridge crossing\nLog crossing\nRock riding\nRiding on angles\nHillside climbing ( various degrees)\nObstacle riding\nDitch crossings\n\nWe take a break (bring your own lunch) and then some local riding for the last 1/2 of the day outside of the training area with everyone \nThis day is open to all experience levels\, each day is custom tailored to individuals attending and their machines \nBring what you have for recovery gear or just your selves and legal riding gear with your machine \nYes a helmet is mandatory for this day eye protection is highly recommended if your machine does not have a windshield as there will be riding on the forestry service roads \nYes you can have a passenger with you in sxs /utv \n12 paid spots maximum\nCost for the day is 150$ per SxS/UTV/ATV and operator (SXS/UTV passenger is no charge). This is still stock- and newbie-friendly\, but some clearance and 4WD with low range are required. \nWe welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 off-road in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting: the “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may split into two groups and do things in a different order. Destination subject to change on-the-fly depending on conditions. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. DESCRIPTION:We welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Weaver Creek Spawning Channel (17780 Morris Valley Rd\, Agassiz\, BC V0M 1A1) for introductions\, air-down\, and safety talk before heading out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. DESCRIPTION:8:30am we’ll convoy from Marysville Petro Canada. Once we hit St. Mary’s Lake Rd. we’ll air down at the Hellroaring FSR junction. From there it’s a scenic drive for all 4×4 abilities to the lake head. \nWe have signage to install and an Association fire pit\, there’s brushing and tree removal\, picnic table repairs and general maintenance to be done. \nPlease bring sunscreen and tools/shovels for the type of work you want to perform. There is some GlueTread swag to be drawn for our workers too. \nDon’t forget your swimsuit and paddle boards for post-work relaxation!

On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, a Hi-Lift jack\, and a winch. DESCRIPTION:Formerly the Kenyon Lake Maintenance Run—now the Lost Creek Newbie Run. This is still stock- and newbie-friendly\, but some clearance and 4WD with low range are required. \nWe welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 off-road in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting: the “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may split into two groups and do things in a different order. Destination subject to change on-the-fly depending on conditions. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. A proper four-wheel-drive vehicle with reasonable ground clearance and a willingness to learn new things is all that is required. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. We recommend\, but do not require\, that you have the following: \n\nSuitable tires with good tread\nFull-size spare and jack for your vehicle\nTire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\nWork gloves\nCommon sense\nand most importantly\, bring a good attitude\n\nCommunications (optional\, but recommended – see 4wdabc.ca/communications): \n\nLMR 4WDABC channel 2 (Lower Mainland)\nHam 146.460 MHz (ham license required)\nFRS/GMRS channel 4\, privacy code 0 (or off)\nCB channel 4\n\nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. Pets are welcome\, but please keep them leashed and under control. \nMeetup is at 9:30 am at the Davis Lake Staging Area at the 3km mark of Lost Creek FSR. Directions: turn north at the Centex station at Lougheed Hwy. and Sylvester Rd just east of Mission. The pavement ends in 15km and Lost Creek FSR starts; continue 3km to the staging area. Departure is 10:00 am sharp. You can expect the group to return to the staging area by about 5:00 pm\, although participants can always leave early if they need to; just make sure one of your run leaders knows you’re going.

SUMMARY:Hale Creek (West Harrison) Maintenance/Newbie Run
DESCRIPTION:We welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Weaver Creek Spawning Channel (17780 Morris Valley Rd\, Agassiz\, BC V0M 1A1) for introductions\, air-down\, and safety talk before heading out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. DESCRIPTION:DCOFFROAD Proudly Presents\n“SEND IT” A Stave West Training and Tour day\nTHe first Saturday of every month\, starting SATURDAY April 5\, 2025\, get to know and operate your SXS / UTVs and ATVs and check out some of the Stave West area trails\nCome out add to your skills and learn from experienced operators in the Motorsport park and training area and do some local stave west riding\nEach day is tailored\, depending on persons experience levels signed up some days will have more touring\, less training\nFirst 1/2 of the day is in the training area starting with the discussion portion including: \n\nMachine orientation\nRiding Gear and equipment\nPre ride preparation\nTire pressures\nMachine operation\nBasic recovery techniques\nBasic Winch recovery\n\nThen we saddle up for coached physical machine operation in the entire training area including: \n\nPylon practice\nFigure 8 practice\nRecovery practice\nWinch recovery\nLog bridge crossing\nLog crossing\nRock riding\nRiding on angles\nHillside climbing ( various degrees)\nObstacle riding\nDitch crossings\n\nWe take a break (bring your own lunch) and then some local riding for the last 1/2 of the day outside of the training area with everyone \nThis day is open to all experience levels\, each day is custom tailored to individuals attending and their machines \nBring what you have for recovery gear or just your selves and legal riding gear with your machine \nYes a helmet is mandatory for this day eye protection is highly recommended if your machine does not have a windshield as there will be riding on the forestry service roads \nYes you can have a passenger with you in sxs /utv \n12 paid spots maximum\nCost for the day is 150$ per SxS/UTV/ATV and operator (SXS/UTV passenger is no charge). As a non profit organization\, all funds go towards Training\, Operating\, Maintaining\, Building and Improving the Facilities \nEasily register and sign up for the training day\nE-transfer of $150 to Dcoffroad@shaw.ca reserves your spot\nAll spots must be prepaid ahead of training date. \nPlease include your full name\, SxS/UTV/ATV type name and phone number in your e-transfer memo area\n10am meet and greet at the training area fill out Waivers (waiver can be emailed to you ahead of time.
