DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR PRINCE GEORGE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, July 29\, 2023 at 8:30AM near the Dougherty Creek Rec Site. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, and if time permits\, simple recovery. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include picking a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR HARRISON MILLS\, BC. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the very basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in a variety of common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, and if time permits\, simple recovery. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to pick a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. Our classes are small\, allowing you to interact with the other students and share your experiences while learning from each other\, and you will be encouraged to practice each of your new skills in our Hands-On training style. \nThe day will conclude with learning the basics of vehicle recovery using a recovery strap\, important post-trip procedures\, and airing up before heading home. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\nTP/toiletries – NO FACILITIES ON SITE\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Part of the day will be learning about the types of tools available\, to help you with your own purchasing decisions. You’re welcome to bring and ask questions about any other equipment you already own\, particularly air-down/air-up tools. \n\nCost of this event is $125 for current 4WDABC individual members. Each person attending will require their own ticket. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE AT APEX MOUNTAIN RESORT NEAR HEDLEY\, BC. \nThe focus of the second course of this series\, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery\,” is to take you through the very basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from a variety of common “stuck” situations. \nCourse topics include equipment selection and care\, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, and hands-on experience in a variety of simple recovery scenarios. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation\, and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, hi-lift jack\, and a winch.
