DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, May 24\, 2025\, at 8:30 AM at the Hayward Lake Rec Area parking lot. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include simple trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, 4WD systems\, and what equipment to carry. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to pick a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. \nThe day will conclude with learning important post-trip procedures and airing up before heading home. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\nTP/toiletries – NO FACILITIES ON SITE\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Prevost Rd. and travel approx. 1km up the gravel (click the link\, Google Maps can navigate you right to it).  \nThe focus of the second course of this series\, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from various common “stuck” situations. \nCourse topics include equipment selection and care\, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, and hands-on experience in various simple recovery scenarios. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Sunday\, January 19\, 2025\, at 8:30 AM at the Hayward Lake Rec Area parking lot.  \nThe focus of the second course of this series\, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from various common “stuck” situations. \nCourse topics include equipment selection and care\, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, and hands-on experience in various simple recovery scenarios. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, a Hi-Lift jack\, and a winch. Our classes are small\, allowing you to interact with the other students and share your experiences while learning from each other\, and you will be encouraged to practice each of your new skills in our hands-on training style. \nBy the end of the course\, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle and recovery options\, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer. \nBE SURE TO BRING: \n\nChair\nBug spray\nClothing for outdoor conditions (warm\, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)\nWork gloves\nLunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages\nPen & Paper\n\nNo additional equipment is required\, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, September 21\, 2024\, at 8:30 AM at the Hayward Lake Rec Area parking lot. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, and if time permits\, simple recovery. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include picking a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation and how to use traction boards\, recovery straps\, a Hi-Lift jack\, and a winch. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE\, BC.  \nMeetup is Saturday\, July 20\, 2024\, at 8:30 AM at the Hayward Lake Rec Area parking lot. \nThe focus of the first course of this series\, “Foundations of Four-Wheeling\,” is to take you through the basics and help make you comfortable in your off-road vehicle in various common situations and obstacles. \nCourse topics include trip planning/preparedness for an afternoon adventure\, understanding your vehicle while looking at it in a 360-degree view\, trail safety and etiquette\, the importance of airing down\, trail driving\, and if time permits\, simple recovery. \nIn this day-long class\, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled\, real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include picking a line\, spotting\, hill climbing and descent\, off-camber (side-hill)\, and driving in different terrain conditions\, to name a few.
