SUMMARY:Christmas Merch Event
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for last-minute Christmas present ideas? Or maybe you are just going to spoil yourself? \nWhatever the reason\, come out and join us for this year-end 4WDABC merchandise sales event. We will have all of the merch there\, so if we still have it in stock\, you should be able to get it here. \nBeen thinking of joining the Association? Or maybe you just need some help renewing your membership? Our membership director\, Bethany\, will be there to help you out. \nAlways wanted to ask some questions about the Wheeling Wisely off-road training programs or Wheelers of Tomorrow? Here is a great opportunity to get some more information. Somebody in the family just got their first 4 x 4\, or perhaps it just terrifies you driving down a trail? Why not get them a Wheeling Wisely course as a Christmas gift! \nThe venue is a wonderful place to visit\, with gorgeous walking trails through the woods and a fascinating fish hatchery (actually the biggest privately run hatchery in Canada); maybe you will get to see some salmon in action. \nThe event is being held at the hall. Travel down the driveway\, slowly\, please! Keep to the right and cross the bridge heading up the hill to the hall building.

SUMMARY:Lost Creek/Kenyon Lake Newbie/Maintenance Run 2025
DESCRIPTION:Formerly the Kenyon Lake Maintenance Run—now the Lost Creek Newbie Run. This is still stock- and newbie-friendly\, but some clearance and 4WD with low range are required. \nWe welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 off-road in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting: the “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may split into two groups and do things in a different order. Destination subject to change on-the-fly depending on conditions. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. A proper four-wheel-drive vehicle with reasonable ground clearance and a willingness to learn new things is all that is required. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. We recommend\, but do not require\, that you have the following: \n\nSuitable tires with good tread\nFull-size spare and jack for your vehicle\nTire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\nWork gloves\nCommon sense\nand most importantly\, bring a good attitude\n\nCommunications (optional\, but recommended – see 4wdabc.ca/communications): \n\nLMR 4WDABC channel 2 (Lower Mainland)\nHam 146.460 MHz (ham license required)\nFRS/GMRS channel 4\, privacy code 0 (or off)\nCB channel 4\n\nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. Pets are welcome\, but please keep them leashed and under control. \nMeetup is at 9:30 am at the Davis Lake Staging Area at the 3km mark of Lost Creek FSR. Directions: turn north at the Centex station at Lougheed Hwy. and Sylvester Rd just east of Mission. The pavement ends in 15km and Lost Creek FSR starts; continue 3km to the staging area. Departure is 10:00 am sharp. You can expect the group to return to the staging area by about 5:00 pm\, although participants can always leave early if they need to; just make sure one of your run leaders knows you’re going.

SUMMARY:Nahatlatch Rebirth: Site Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:We’re starting on site cleanup and mitigation in preparation for rebuilding! \nFirst steps will involve picking up the broken/melted glass\, metal scrap\, charred wood\, and garbage around the site (there’s a lot that was hidden by the bushes beside the tower). \nIf we have the people and equipment we may work on brushing around the area to keep it clear as well. \nMeet at the tower for 11:00 AM on October 11. \nImportant: Google Maps directions to the site have historically been inaccurate and are currently not working at all. Please follow the directions from RSTBC. We’re told that the ranch put up a gate to stop logging traffic from rushing through\, and now the logging company is cutting a new road bypassing the ranch\, so directions may be updated later. \nThose wishing to convoy up can meet Cameron at the Hope Starbucks at 8:00 AM. \nWe’ll need pickups and trailers for hauling out the trash. Garbage bags and some tools will be provided\, but people should also bring their own shovels\, pickers\, power landscaping tools (weedeaters\, etc.) and so on. \nLimited camping is available on-site for those wishing to go up the day before or stay afterward. \nThose hauling the debris out can take it to their local landfill/transfer station and will be reimbursed. Receipts and photos must be submitted to our Volunteer Reporting Form and emailed to Brian Pratt. \nNahatlatch site\, June 2025. Photo by Andy Wittenberg

SUMMARY:11th Annual 4WDABC Show & Shine
DESCRIPTION:The Four Wheel Drive Association of BC is thrilled to welcome everyone to our 11th (almost) annual Show & Shine! So hose off those rigs\, tell your friends\, and come join us for a day of fun and prizes at Mission’s Fraser River Heritage Park. \nAll rigs welcome! Classic or modern\, 4×4 or not\, truck\, van\, or car\, overlanders or rock crawlers… let’s see what you’ve got! Just let us know in advance if you have a particularly large vehicle so we can plan in advance. Got a 6×6 or Unimog? Post it up and we’ll see how much legroom you need. \nEntry by cash donation. Funds collected by the 4WDABC support trail and site maintenance\, program development\, and events like these! \nGates open at 10am; there’s plenty of room for all\, so to avoid making a traffic mess of nearby streets\, please *DO NOT* line up early. If you plan to attend as a group\, please post in the event letting us know how many spots you expect to need\, and we will save you a row—but please do plan to meet at another location and convoy to the gate as a group from there to prevent clogging roads and make parking as quick as possible. \nSo mark your calendars\, bug your buddies\, and look forward to a great day surrounded by a field of 4x4s\, fun\, music\, and prizes. See you there!
