SUMMARY:Hale Creek (West Harrison) Maintenance/Newbie Run
DESCRIPTION:We welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the gravel lot at the four-way stop behind the Sasquatch Inn (46001 Lougheed Hwy.\, Harrison Mills\, BC V0M 1L0) for a 10:00 AM rollout. Air down at the Weaver Creek hatchery and head out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. The “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may possibly split into two groups and do things in a different order. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may possibly split into two groups and do things in a different order. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting. The “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake.
