SUMMARY:Hale Creek (West Harrison) Newbie/Maintenance Run

SUMMARY:Lost Creek/Kenyon Lake Newbie/Maintenance Run
DESCRIPTION:Formerly the Kenyon Lake Maintenance Run – Now the Sylvester Road Newbie Run. This is still stock and newbie friendly\, but some clearance and 4WD with low range is required. \nWe welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting. The “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may split into two groups and do things in a different order. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. A proper four-wheel-drive vehicle with reasonable ground clearance and a willingness to learn new things is all that is required. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. SUMMARY:"BRING YOUR OWN SHOVEL" PARTY!
DESCRIPTION:As part of our agreement with Rec Sites and Trails BC for the ongoing care of Skwellepil Creek Rec Site\, they require that it be maintained as “4×4-access only” by keeping the cross-ditches in the trail cleared out. To kick off this summer camping season\, then\, we’ll be having a “ditch-clearing” day and we invite members to bring their “shovels and rakes and implements of destruction” to help out! \nWe will be meeting at the gravel lot at the four-way stop behind the Sasquatch Inn at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM departure. Those who want to come a bit later are welcome to join us up at the site. \nOnce we get to Skwellepil rec site\, we will focus on clearing the ditches at the entrance. If we have enough people\, we may get some other site maintenance in as well. \nMaple Ridge Chrysler has generously offered to supply our volunteers with lunch! If you are going to attend\, please select “Going” so that they know how much food to bring!! \nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event.

If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. We always welcome experienced drivers who want a relaxed day and the opportunity to help novice wheelers. \nThere is a choice of five destinations during this run\, and we can do any three of them\, time permitting. The “warm-up challenge\,” Salsbury Lake\, Tank Trap\, The Grotto\, and Kenyon Lake. If we have a large number of rigs turn out\, then we may possibly split into two groups and do things in a different order. \nFROM THE RUN LEADER:\nThis run is for novices and will feature some basic challenges. A proper four-wheel-drive vehicle with reasonable ground clearance and a willingness to learn new things is all that is required. \nWe recommend that you have the following:\n– Suitable tires\, with good tread\n– Spare and jack for your vehicle\n– Tire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\n– Common sense\n– and most importantly\, bring a good attitude \nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. \nMeetup is at 9:30 am at the Husky at Lougheed Hwy. and Sylvester Rd. just east of Mission with a departure time of 10:00 am sharp to head to the air-down area.
