SUMMARY:Hale Creek (West Harrison) Maintenance/Newbie Run
DESCRIPTION:We welcome those who enjoy using their four-wheel-drive vehicle to explore and discover beautiful places. If you have no experience driving your 4×4 ‘ off-road’ in difficult or rough terrain and want to gain knowledge and experience in a friendly\, knowledgeable\, and safe environment\, this is the event for you. \nThese monthly runs cover beginner trails and light intermediate trails. Generally\, there will be two groups leading runs: one for new drivers and another for intermediate drivers. All the usual trails are stock 4×4 accessible\, although because 4x4s vary so much in clearance\, length\, and angles\, some may involve dents and scrapes for some vehicles. Run leaders will assess your rigs before starting out to ensure the trails you run are suitable for what you want to do and are comfortable with. \nMeetup at 9:30 in the gravel lot at the four-way stop behind the Sasquatch Inn (46001 Lougheed Hwy.\, Harrison Mills\, BC V0M 1L0) for a 10:00 AM rollout. Air down at the Weaver Creek hatchery and head out for Hale Creek\, and other potential destinations such as Skwellepil Creek\, Francis Lake\, Sunrise Lake\, or North Chehalis. Depending on the turnout\, we’ll probably break into smaller groups with a choice of destinations. \n\nParticipants may leave the group any time they like\, but please be sure to inform one of the run leaders before you do. Expect the group to return to the Sasquatch by around 4:00 PM. \nOne of the goals of these runs is to help you determine what equipment\, tools\, and accessories you need; nobody should feel they aren’t “properly equipped” to attend. We recommend\, but do not require\, that you have the following: \n\nSuitable tires\, with good tread\nFull-size spare and jack for your vehicle\nTire gauge\, compressor\, and plug kit\nWork gloves\nCommon sense\nand most importantly\, bring a good attitude\n\nCommunications (optional\, but recommended): \n\nLMR 4WDABC channel 2 (Lower Mainland)\nHam 146.460MHz (ham qualification and callsign required)\nFRS/GMRS channel 4\, privacy code 0 (or off)\nCB channel 4\n(see 4wdabc.ca/communications)\n\nDuring these runs\, our members and volunteers will clean up these sites\, clear brush\, repair structures\, and remove garbage. You are welcome to participate.\nThis is a family-friendly\, drug- and alcohol-free event. \nNote: run may be rescheduled or cancelled depending on weather and road conditions; please check back here before heading out.

SUMMARY:Pend'Orielle Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Dragonfly in Salmo. We’ve scouted the area. We know what needs attention; now it’s time to clean it! Who is in?! It’ll be a fun day. But we do need a truck or two to help carry out the garbage. Is anybody willing to volunteer their vehicle for garbage removal? The Trail landfill has agreed to waive fees for us. I just need the description of your truck and plate number\, so they know who to wave through.\nVolunteers will need to bring :\n– Sturdy gloves! This is the most important part please bring very good gloves\n– Rakes and shovels preferably the wide plastic rakes but metal is good to.\n– Does anybody have a tarp we can use to cover the garbage on the way to the dump?\n– I can bring one of those magnetic sweeper things to pick up nails. \n– and I will pick up those thick sturdy garbage bags \n\n\nIf you’re gonna come out\, please message me! So that I know who is coming and nobody gets left behind.
